The Problem
As a developer who spends time in both the digital and physical worlds, I kept running into the same frustrating scenario:
In the kitchen: Converting cups to milliliters while following a recipe
In the workshop: Converting mm to inches for a woodworking project
At the desk: Converting Fahrenheit to Celsius for international documentation
Sure, there are apps and websites that do conversions, but I wanted something physical – a chart I could print and stick to my wall, tape to my toolbox, or keep in my notebook. Something that doesn't require unlocking my phone, opening an app, and typing in numbers.
The Solution: ChartsPrintables.com
So I built ChartsPrintables – a collection of 60+ free printable conversion charts covering:
? Length Conversions
MM ↔ Inches
CM ↔ Inches
Feet ↔ Meters
And more...
? Volume Conversions
Cups ↔ Milliliters
Tablespoons ↔ Milliliters
Fluid Ounces ↔ Milliliters
Gallons ↔ Liters
⚖️ Weight Conversions
Grams ↔ Ounces
Kilograms ↔ Pounds
Ounces ↔ Pounds
?️ Temperature
Fahrenheit ↔ Celsius
Celsius ↔ Kelvin
Oven Temperature Guide
? Special Charts (My Favorites!)
Fraction to Decimal conversions
Drill Bit Sizes

Wire Gauge
Lumber Sizes

Why It's Different
✅ No Signup Required
I hate it when websites force you to create an account just to download a simple PDF. On ChartsPrintables, you can browse, customize, and download without ever entering your email.
? Customizable
Each chart can be customized before downloading:
Choose your preferred units
Select paper size (A4, Letter, etc.)
Pick color themes
? Mobile-Friendly
The site works great on mobile, so you can quickly look up a conversion when you're in the middle of a project.
?️ Print-Ready
Every chart is designed to look great when printed – clean, readable, and properly formatted.
The Tech Stack
For the curious developers:
Frontend: Next.js 14 with App Router
Styling: Tailwind CSS
Charts: Custom React components with SVG rendering
Export: html2canvas + jsPDF for PDF generation
Hosting: Vercel
Payments: Creem (for the PRO features)
The most interesting technical challenge was generating print-perfect PDFs from React components. I experimented with several approaches before settling on a client-side rendering solution that produces crisp, vector-quality charts.
Use Cases
The site is organized by real-world use cases:
? Kitchen
Perfect for home cooks and bakers who need quick reference for recipe conversions.
? Workshop
Essential for woodworkers, metalworkers, and DIY enthusiasts working with mixed measurement systems.
? Education
Teachers and students can print charts for classrooms and study materials.
? Engineering
Professionals who need reliable conversion references at their desk.
Chrome Extension
I also built a Chrome Extension that gives you instant access to the charts without opening a new tab. Just click the icon and search for any conversion.
What's Next?
I'm actively adding new charts based on user requests. Some coming soon:
Currency conversion tables
Time zone reference charts
Cooking temperature guides for different meats
Knitting needle size conversions
Try It Out
? Website: https://chartsprintables.com
? Chrome Extension: Get it on the Chrome Web Store
I'd love your feedback! What conversion charts do you find yourself looking up most often? Let me know in the comments and I'll prioritize adding them.
Built with ❤️ by a developer who was tired of googling "mm to inches" every weekend.
